Interview with Evil Devil from Kristov Zúñiga and Hektor Plasma

What inspires you to write songs? 

Our inspiration are the classic Psychobilly themes (horror, b-movies, zombies, weird creatures of the night), but also our personal lifes and experiences (women, love, pain, everyday problems etc). we try to mix them or to talk about them using horror metaphors, you will see with the new album. 

 

How often do you practice?

We try to practice at least 1 or 2 times a months. We are pretty busy with our jobs plus the doublebass player doesn't live in our region so it's no so easy to meet more often. 

 

What countries have you played in?

Evil Devil played 8 times in the Usa (from the legendary CBGB's to LA and Las vegas), Russia, all around Europe from spain to Finland, from Uk o Serbia. With the current Line up during the last year we already played (beyond italy) in Germany, Swiss, Austria, France, Usa, Czech Republic, and Spain.

 

What’s the best show you’ve played? 

Luckily most of them have been great and with lot of wild fun, but we think Psychobilly Meeting in Pineda de Mar - Spain has been amazing and probably the best stage we've been on. It has also been a big satisfaction for us after all these years in the scene.

Any songs in Italian coming soon?

Maybe, who knows... but we would like more people as possible to sing our songs, so probably we will keep writing songs in english. 

 

When will Evil Devil be returning to the US? 

 We hope soon because last time (april 2022) we had lot of fun (you know, you were there!). if you know any promoter that might be interested give us a shout. we are also thinking to hit canada and/or mexico next time we fly over the ocean for playin' in the states.
